Which of these three would you order?
I primi (pasta or risotto)
I mentioned that everything at Pascoli is organic/free range, fresh and local. I mentioned that the decor is elegant and welcoming. I didn’t mention that it is small. A rough guesstimate would be seating for 40, and when we booked a table for 10 on a Friday night, the owners decided not accept any other bookings. We were treated like royalty.
The primi we were offered that everning were:
Schiaffoni in ragù di pesce
See that pasta there, some people call it rigatoni, some call it macaroni, at Pascoli they call it schiaffoni (slaps) and they serve it with a fish and seafood ragù that is savory and velvety and delicious beyond words.
Risotto alle erbe
A risotto seasoned with fresh herbs and a sprinkling of aged parmiggiano. Simplicity at it’s finest.
Straccioni in sugo d’agnello e salsa di finocchio
My absolute favourite, fresh pasta cut into long, wide strips and dressed with a very delicate lamb and fennel sauce with just the slightest hint of tomato. This was so good I wanted to have a second helping, but one mustn’t be greedy … right?
And these were the wines we had, nice, not fabulous, but very good wines just the same.

Oooh…my, my, my! Everything looks and sounds absolutely mouth-watering, but it’s that Schiaffoni in ragù di pesce that really brightened up my dreary morning today. I mean, that dish is just glistening in the photo; can’t wait for the secondi!
And the desserts, don’t forget the desserts!

I did the smart thing today, I came to read your post AFTER lunch! Still, my mouth is watering. What a meal!
BTW, I am flying out on the 7th, any chances that you could change the SATC girl’s night out for Friday? Just wondering.
There is a very good chance that we could do it on the Friday. Let’s say tentative yes, we’ll post details soon.

How great to be treated like Royalty…and to have the restuarant to yourselves…all the meals look tempting…it would be hard for me to choose!!! Thought long and hard and it would have to be….Straccioni in sugo d’agnello e salsa di finocchio.
